General Terms

Computer support and repair is provided by Swift Computer Services. By using our services you agree to the following terms:

Limited Liability

Swift Computer Services shall not be liable for any claims regarding any data loss or consequential damages following data loss no matter how this was caused. You should backup any files and programs prior to sending the computer for repair. We will make every effort to preserve your files, but there are no guarantees for this and this is why you should always backup your data. There is a risk of physical damage when repairing some types of computer, generally limited to plastic clips. We will always try to minimise damage, but some computer designs make this more challenging. In such situations the damage will be the minimal needed to complete the service and you are happy to accept this risk and consequential damage.

Estimates

Where an estimate is given it is not a price guarantee. The more information you provide when asked the more accurate the estimate will be. Most jobs are completed within the estimated time, but rarely some issues take longer than anticipated to repair and you will be liable for the associated labour cost. If requested we can check with you before exceeding the estimated price.

Software Licences

If your computer needs resetting then any software will also need reinstalling. This can be done by Swift Computer Services, but only if given the license, serial number, media or any other required information. Under no circumstances will any software be installed for which we do not have evidence of a valid licence.

Confidentiality

As part of the service provided sometimes your data will be accessed by Swift Computer Services. We will only open any of your documents when necessary as part of the agreed service.

Swift Computer Services will not disclose any of the data from your computer to any third parties unless required by law. Please read our Privacy Policy which states this.

Warranty

New parts supplied will come with a 6-month warranty. Should any additional parts be required when performing warranty work then charges will be incurred and you agree to pay these in full. There is a 14-day warranty on any labour-only repairs specifically limited to the problem identified and fixed originally, and if the original problem re-occurs during this period then Swift Computer Services will undertake the repair again without charge. This warranty excludes faults caused by viruses or other software issues and excludes any issues unrelated to the initial repair or any issues undisclosed by you prior to the original repair. Parts are not covered by this warranty, if any further parts are required for the repair these will be chargeable.

Payment

Prices are shown on the main page of Swift Computer Services. Payment is due in full upon completion of the work, and should be paid via the methods on the provided invoice.

Uncollected Equipment

If you have left your equipment with us and haven't collected within 30 days of job completion we will dispose them in accordance with the current WEEE regulations. We will always make reasonable attempts to contact you before we do this.

Computer Advice

When you ask for suggestions for computer equipment we will listen and suggest products, sometimes from a particular shop, and this is our professional suggestion based on your answers to the needs questions. We have no business connection to any company we suggest, and make no money from them for any suggestions. If you do buy the equipment you will enter an agreement with that company and Swift Computer Services are not involved in that transaction or subsequent guarantee in any way. We do not accept responsibility for any aftercare from the third party vendors.
